Weddings are no longer a one day affair. The financial considerations will be a limiting factor in how many people are willing to expend a large capital investment on a multiple day event instead of investing in a home.

Scary the prices and production that weddings have become in America. I am getting quite an education on all that goes into the planning through the blog

Interesting point of view expressed in this video. The finicial impact of a wedding can be more than many people truly consider. If I was given the choice, a big wedding or a down payment on a home.....I think the home would win. and that may be a generational thing. Good luck with your future as a wedding planner.

WOW, such an exciting time in a couples life! Destination wedding or traditional wedding both need the help of a professional. Go for it Tahia and good luck!

I attended a wedding last Saturday after class. It was very lovely. It was very simple. They had a simple ceremony where they exchanged vows, 20 minutes. And a delicious but simple reception with music, good food (a lot of it prepared by the brides family and friends). Danced and sang into the wee hours. A wonderful celebration of this couple. Now they are on their honeymoon in Alaska (where the bride is originally from). Such diversity as to choice each couple makes - financial and otherwise. Interesting and growing field.

PS - Tahia, your time setting are set to Pacific time - you can change this to Eastern time under settings - formatting - time zone.

Hi Tahia,
I will show your site to my daughters when they are ready to get married. You have done so much work on this subject and have so many wonderful resources. I will have little to do when their day arrives thanks to you. Keep your honeymoon going as long as posible. It was wonderful to see your enthusiasm in class about your wedding. I hope you had great week.
